ADVENT FOR THE EXILED
Advent for the Exiled // The Book of Isaiah
We can't help but feel nostalgic about the Christmas season. There is a sense of familiarity and comfort that comes with tradition. But what if the traditions we practice need further exploration? What if the passages we have grown comfortable with have more to offer than we find in Christmas Carols? Over the next few weeks we will take time to explore some of the often referenced messianic prophecies of Isaiah and try to discover what those who first heard them would have understood them to mean. By growing our understanding of these familiar scriptures we have grown comfortable with, our aim is that we can to deepen our appreciation of the impact of the coming Christ child and what his advent means for our world today.
