In church you might hear words like outreach, evangelism, and mission. These words and others are critical to the health and vibrancy of the local church. But how can any of these be done without unity? Where does our ability to get along and to reconcile sit on this list? As we explore Paul's letter to the Church in Philippi, we see an interconnectedness between the purity of the individual and the unity of the body. Our salvation is to be worked out with fear and trembling as we model the person of Christ, putting the needs of others above our own. Our mission to the world is rooted in our relationship to one another. Before we talk about mission and evangelism, we need to be of one Spirit.
